SUMMARY:DASSH (Designing Actionable Solutions for a Secure Homeland) Student Design Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Student teams will compete against other universities in the 3-day DASSH (Designing Actionable Solutions for a Secure Homeland) student design challenge. This annual event is co-sponsored by SENTRY and fellow Department of Homeland Security Center of Excellence\, the Center for Accelerating Operational Efficiency (CAOE). \nTeams will be presented with real-world problem scenarios related to homeland security and this year’s theme\, “Security in an AI World.” \nSubject matter experts mentor student teams as they design\, build\, and implement innovative solutions. Unlike other hackathons that focus on coding\, this challenge emphasizes finding real solutions\, regardless of the medium in which those solutions happen to be. \nTo conclude the event\, proposed solutions will be presented to the Department of Homeland Security leadership\, and cash prizes will be awarded to the top teams. \nEligibility: Graduate and undergraduate students affiliated with SENTRY\, CAOE\, SENTRY partner institutions\, or CAOE academic partners are invited to participate. \nRegistration: Teams can sign up right until the start of the event\, but teams that sign up by January 28th will receive a free event t-shirt. \nRegister here
